The tables below represented the recorded casualties of the Regiment from September 1939 to December 1945. The numbers may change as I do more research, but they shouldn’t change by much. What I have not presented in the tables is a summary of soldiers killed in action. The number for the other ranks is 424 killed or 24.48%. The number of officers killed in action is actually 29, again, 25%. The high percentage is the result of the Battalion essentially being wiped out twice; the July 25, 1944 attack at Verrieres Ridge (305, including 111 killed); and, October 13, 1944, the infamous Black Friday, (145, including 56 killed).
